Editing can range from dealing with the big picture of structure and tone, through to the level of the sentence and choosing the best word. It can be as much about talking and discussing ideas as it can be about marks on a page. It is always a collaboration between the creator of the work and the editor.

The philosophy at Broadcast Books is that every piece of writing can be improved by editing and equally that the text belongs to the person who wrote it — editors should never overwhelm the writer. Editing should be an enjoyable, productive, two-way process.

Editing is my passion and my profession. I work closely with the author to help develop the best text.
